All sites have access to Lake Michigan or Europe Lake. |

Hiking Distances to sites ranges from 0.9 miles to 3.0 Miles |

Campers Must pay fees before setting up camp |

Steel "Raccoon" Boxes are available at each site for food and gear. |

Drinking water must be carried in |

ALL Garbage must be carried out |

Only dead and downed wood may be used for fires (or bring your own) |
|
Tents must be placed in designate camp areas (Maximum of 2 tents per site) |

Pit toilets are located near each site (BYOTP) |

No More than 6 people per site |

Newport offers 30 Miles of hiking trails which abound
with wildlife and fabulous flora.
Naturalist programs are a great way to learn about the area.
Bird Hikes and Spring flower hikes are favored by many who visit.
The Park is host to several endangered species as well,
Management is key to this wilderness area.

| Newport Trail | Transition Forest, weaves in and out of sandy bays along the lakeshore | 5.0 Miles | Gorgeous any time of year. Great for early spring wildflowers |
| Rowleys Bay | Pockets of Boreal Forest. | 4.0 Miles | Great for woodland bird watching and early spring ephemerals |
| Monarch Trail | Open meadows, aspen and juniper reclaiming 100 year old farm land | 1.5 miles | Monarch Butterfly Heaven. A wonderful summer stroll or winter ski. |
| Lynd Point/Fern Loop | Rocky, Rugged shoreline hike. Cedars and Hemlock abound | 2.2 miles | Ancient Lake Michigan shoreline is the focus here. Mossy cool spaces surround you. End the hike among Ostrich Fern 5 feet Tall! |
| Europe Bay/Hotz Loop | Stabilized ancient sand dunes now covered with hemlock trees | 7.0 Miles | Rolling dunes now covered with vegetation; Blueberries are a favorite here. Orchids abound if the time is right. |
| Upland Trail | Self Guided Nature trail through Maple and Beech tree communities. Also the site of an old homestead | 2.0 Miles | Looking for a wide variety of birds? Upland provides forest, edge and open field habitat.! Should be called Bluebird Lane! |
