Newport State Parks Spring and Summer Flora List

This list is updated seasonally by the naturalists as a working phenology.

Stay tuned for Late Summer and Autumn editions along with a list of mushrooms for the area.

For an in-depth look at some of these flowers we recommend using a reference source such as a field guide or text.

The guide below is an alphabetical "quick look" by Common Name
Pictures to follow as they are taken...

A Spring Flora brochure is available in the Nature Center( and Free)

Blooming times vary greatly due to many climactic factors. Generally, the spring flowers at Newport are in bloom up to 2 weeks later than other parts of Door County
