Newport State Parks Spring and Summer Flora Lists

These lists are updated seasonally by the naturalists as a working phenology.

For an in-depth look at some of these flowers we recommend using a reference source such as a field guide or text.

The guides below are alphabetical by Common Name

Spring and Summer Flora brochures are available in the Hotz Wilderness Room - Nature Center (Free)

Blooming times vary greatly due to many climatic factors. Generally, spring flowers at Newport bloom up to 2 weeks later than in other parts of Door County

The lists below are by no means all inclusive.
We are documenting new flora often and would appreciate your help in our record keeping
While on a visit to the park, if you find something new to our list please let us know!

Also due to management concerns, some threatened and endangered species are not listed.
